Elisabeth Perl is a young archaeologist in her early 20s – some reports place her as young as 20 – who moved to Ibiza in early April. Her whereabouts have remained unknown since she disappeared during the International Music Summit on the 30th of that month.
On her blog, Elisabeth says she was born in Sweden but moved to live with relatives in London when she was very young. Since then, she says she has “lived all over, from the US to Scandinavia to Croatia to Scotland.” She describes archaeology and dance music as her “two big loves”, having studied Historical Archaeology at university.
At the time of her disappearance, Elisabeth was working alongside James Haddow at the Society for the Protection of Ancient Ibiza. Since her disappearance, Elisabeth’s blog appears to have been hacked, and a mysterious video left at the top of each page. It shows Perl possibly held captive in a woodland, with the message “The girl is with us now.” No party has come forward to take responsibility.
Since her disappearance, Perl’s only communication has been with DJ Sarah Main, whom she befriended at Ibiza superclub, Pacha. Perl sent Main a video message, warning Sarah that Ibiza was in danger, and that Main herself is now involved; Perl goes on to deny any involvement.
