The final diary entry of surrealist and land artist Antonio Perleamo, rumoured to be the grandfather of Elisabeth Perl (aka DVJ Elisabeth), has been posted on a fan website dedicated to Perleamo's work.

A new symbol from The Young Punx

A new video promoting The White Island Takeover on Flaunt, and making the rounds in Ibiza, has revealed a possible new symbol. Several DJs are in the video, but in the section hosted by The Young Punx, both Hal and Nathan show symbols that appeared on their hats after they were lost in the crowd during a gig at Privilege, and returned after. In the clip, Nathan holds his symbol in one direction, but Hal presents his turned 90 degrees.

Normally, this would go unnoticed, but given the associations now being made between the symbols surrounding the mystery of The White Island, and the icons on the Pioneer SVM-1000, a new interpretation is being posited concerning this symbol - while before it was through The Young Punx symbol resembled the Filter icon of the SVM-1000, it's now thought the symbol might resemble the Blur icon.

Is this a new symbol? Is it two symbols in one? Or do The Young Punx, as members of The Brotherhood of the Green Chrysanthemum, know something we don't?

Symbols and Icons

Those following the discussion of The White Island at Unforums will have noted a new theory emerging regarding the various symbols being distributed to DJs and around the internet (apparently by Bes, according to another post). Investigator "therev" has proposed the symbol on the piece of jewelry given to DJ Sarah Main resembles the Reverb icon on the Pioneer SVM-1000, a DVJ mixer. Further, he has suggested resemblances between other icons and symbols.

There is a potential issue with this theory: only ten symbols have been presented so far, and discussion throughout The White Island has centred on 12 symbols. And although there are 12 icons on the SVM screen (above), the SVM in fact has two screens (below), for a total of 24 icons.

As this is a new theory, a thorough comparison has yet to be performed.

"Our enemy is activated"

Reports are coming in that an area of the Orumax website thought to be for client communications only has received an update, with the ominous message "our enemy is activated". Alongside the rather more extensive message is a slideshow, and an ancient drawing of a cat or rabbit (or a cat-rabbit?) and a snake in battle.

Elisabeth Perl Video!

A video from Elisabeth Perl has been posted to the Antonio Perleamo fansite. The administrators are clearly flustered by the receipt of the video, and appear to be caught up in something they don't understand.

For white island investigators, however, this is a clear breakthrough.

We've noted, as well, other updates on the site, concerning Perleamo himself.

A New Puzzle

James Haddow of the Society for the Protection of Ancient Ibiza posted an urgent appeal on www.sociedadibiza.com, noting that he or his organization have found another puzzle related to the mystery of The White Island.

SPAI have gone the further step of offering a Pioneer ProDJ CDJ-400 to the first person who solves the puzzle. This reward is similar to previous rewards offered by Pioneer ProDJ, and leads us to wonder if SPAI has been involved at the core of the mystery from the start.

DJ Tutor presents new symbol???

DJ Tutor today stoked the flames of internet rumors linking him to The Brotherhood of the Green Chrysanthemum, when he posted a new tutorial video on his YouTube channel. The tutorial, How to Mix Drum & Bass with Hip-Hop, is straightforward enough, but lurking in the background is an image of a Green Chrysanthemum; this is often thought to be a signal of kinship between members of the brotherhood.

Tutor, a one-man life support system for an internet meme, is revered in both the DJ and YouTube communities. His signal of membership in The Brotherhood puts him in league with a number of famed DJs, including Tiefschwarz, Above and Beyond and, some speculate, Paul van Dyk.

His claim was strengthened when in another tutorial video, he presented what may be another symbol in the mystery of The White Island.

DJ Sarah Main recently sent an email to the administrators of antonioperleamo.com, a fansite for the artist Antonio Perleamo. They, in turn, posted part of it in their news section:

"I was reading about the symbols and Elisabeth, and then Perleamo's automatic writing, and something clicked. The rumor mill is pushing a ritual party on the Eastern Shore of San Antonio Bay during the closing weekend. I thought it was another club promotion, but after reading Perleamo's automatic writings, I think it may be the ritual described in Perleamo's automatic writing.

"But isn't he long dead? No insult intended, but I just want to confirm that your site is genuine."

Followers of The White Island will know that Main recently launched a series of takeovers on Flaunt in her search for Elisabeth Perl. She has since been joined on Flaunt by a number of DJs, all search for Elisabeth. They include Above & Beyond, The Young Punx and Micky Slim. All are thought to be members of The Brotherhood of The Green Chrysanthemum, although this has yet to be confirmed.

BBC News viewers join the international search for Elisabeth Perl

BBC News pointed their international viewers to thewhiteisland.com on Saturday 30 August, directing them to "help solve the mystery of The White Island". The appeal aired on BBC1, BBC News, www.bbc.co.uk/click, and was broadcast internationally.

Servers for The White Island, the home website of investigators of the mystery, were overwhelmed briefly following the announcement.

Sarah Main hosted The White Island Takeover special Friday night on Flaunt TV (available in the UK, Europe and across Northwest Africa).

In the program, Sarah broadcast a new appeal for help finding Elisabeth:

The program was interrupted several times by what appeared to be "pirate" interruptions. In them, new versions of three videos from Elisabeth Perl's blog appeared:

New Orumax ad running on Sky Digital in the UK

Followers of The White Island have reported that UK digital channel, Flaunt TV, has been offering a substantial reward for information concerning the mystery of The White Island.

Flaunt is a dance music video channel in the UK. Regular Flaunt viewers are also reporting seeing promos on-air for The White Island Takeover this Friday, 29 August, from 9PM to Midnight, hosted by Sarah Main.

Internet investigators at UnForums have noticed two significant developments in The White Island.

First, a new area of the immersive cube at the centre of the mystery of The White Island appears to be a hotspot, but as yet isn't leading to anything. Speculation is that a new puzzle may be propogating on the site.

And second, a new "secret" area has appeared at the site of The Brotherhood of the Green Chrysanthemum. The area is behind a password protected screen, and as yet, no one has cracked this new code.

A new video featuring Christian, the manager of Cafe Mambo in Ibiza, has appeared on thewhiteisland.com. Christian talks about a book / log / folio found by his family when they set up Mambo in the 90s. Christian appears to present the book to the person holding the camera, and suggests they might help in figuring out what the book is for.

On the cover are the words "Esmeralda, 1938", as well as the symbol most associated with The White Island, and with the disappearance of Pete Tong's tracks.

Enter the Brotherhood

Yesterday players recieved an email correspondence from the Brotherhood of the Green Chrysanthemum. The email, in typically flowery language, announced that Elisabeth had returned to Ibiza and appeared to offer a clue connected to the Orumax.com website.

A new video of Elisabeth Perl has appeared at the website of Orumax Ltd.

In the video, Elisabeth appears to be promoting the cause of development on the island of Ibiza. This is very much in contrast with her earlier position, as stated on her blog.

Quote:

"Ibiza has been a destination of choice for millennia. From Phoenician traders to Roman Senators to Byzantine Kings, many have come to this paradise and all have left their mark. The Society for the Preservation of Ancient Ibiza is committed to cataloging the natural beauty and rich history of the island for the privileged few.

"But now, development of luxury houses and apartments, so long open to everyone, is now under threat, changing the face of Ibiza. And we have to ask ourselves this question now, before it is lost forever: is this what we want?"

An Orumax logo then appears. The message seems to be aimed at the clients of Orumax. Nothing further is known about the video, although there appears to be a still from the video location at Elisbeth's blog.

Welcome to the new meta-site for The White Island, and to a new blog. We're all dedicated to pursuing the mystery of The White Island, finding Elisabeth, and helping all those who are committed to this cause.

News: over the weekend, a new puzzle appeared at www.thewhiteisland.com. The puzzle lies just beyond the image of a square whole within the monolithic image cube. The puzzle:

Internet investigators at unForums.com quickly solved the puzzle, which led them to a new website associated with The White Island, www.orumax.com.

Orumax appears to be an international company "with expertise including real estate, political consultancy, tax and legal advice, private security, public relations and financial management."

On their website, there is a "client" area behind a login/password page. Even more intriguing, an image of Elisabeth Perl is on their website.
